The Movement For change in Pakistan


Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf started a movement for change and justice in Pakistan through political struggle. The cricketer turned politician Imran Khan is the founder and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf. (Pakistan Movement For Justice). The movement was officially started in 1997 with a mutual understanding and cooperation of a like minded people working as the governing body.



Though The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf started its struggle slowly and gained its popularity after a 17 years of struggle. The biggest success and acclamation for the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf as political party was the general election held in may 2013 in Pakistan when they acquired 35 National Assembly seats and simple majority to form a government in the North west frontier province of Pakistan. However, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has claimed that the 2013 general elections were highly rigged in the history of Pakistan. he accused Nawaz sharif head of the leading political party PMLN who won to form its government in the center for allegedly involving in mass rigging through bribing the election officers. Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf went on to start a mass protest through out the country and a record breaking sit in outside the parliament against stealing their public mandate in the elections in august 2014.

The PMLN has rejected the accusations claiming to have a pure mandate from the people which is also rejected by the many political parties in the country, European observers and united nations observatory body as well. The sit in started in august 2014 by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf demanded to launch a unbiased investigation for recounting the votes and verifying how the present government is winner of the 2013 general elections. The protests against the rigging in general elections of 2013 are still continued and are creating a great impact on the overall national political scenario.

The sit in Islamabad still continues and the people are still pouring in against the rigged government of PMLN. The Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has announced to widen the protest through public gatherings in all over the country.
